BREAKING NEWS

» The CDC Data Project has launched: On June 16, Fired But Fighting’s amazing data team launched a high-impact dashboard, allowing users to drill down into the programmatic, state, and community-level impacts of the proposed FY26 budget.  As of June 19, the website has garnered nearly 9,000 unique visitors. Please SHARE WIDELY. This project is a game-changer: The CDC Data Project.

JUDICIAL UPDATES

» HHS employees affected by the April 1 RIF remain on administrative leave until the Supreme Court issues a decision on the preliminary injunction currently in place as a result of the AFGE et al. v. Trump case.

» HHS submitted information to the District Court in Rhode Island on the State of New York v. Kennedy case, arguing that last week’s rescission of the RIF notices of 469 CDC employees undermines the plaintiffs’ claims in the lawsuit.

CALLS TO ACTION

» Outraged by RFK's firing of all ACIP members? Leave a comment on the June 2025 meeting notice here. The comment period ends TOMORROW, June 20 at 11:59PM EST. Find more information, including how to request to make an oral public comment during the meeting, here.

»  Join the CDC Alumni and Friends’ Urgent Action Alerts!

  1. Call key senators and urge them to reject the proposed FY26 Budget! If passed, this budget would cut CDC funding by 42% and 5,500 FTEs. You may use these scripts, customized for key influential elected officials.

  2. Call Senator Cassidy, the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor & Pensions (HELP). Particularly with the upcoming ACIP meeting on June 24-25 (see draft agenda), it’s important to let him know you are appalled that Secretary Kennedy has unilaterally dismissed all 17 members of CDC’s ACIP. Cassidy facilitated RFK’s senate approval by casting the deciding vote in the HELP committee. See background information and key messages to communicate to Senator Cassidy.

» We Are Patriots: From June 4 to July 4, Fired But Fighting is encouraging people to fight back against the Trump administration’s assault on our systems of government. Click here to learn more about the campaign and how you can get involved.
