This list is based on a cross-comparison of the official September 13, 2024 CDC organizational chart and internal reorganization planning documents circulated during the DOGE-directed budget process. What we found: Many key public health functions were quietly eliminated, scattered, or absorbed. Here’s what survived—and what didn’t.
